Earlier this year, Stellantis made major changes to its North American operations. Tim Kuniskis, who returns in 2025 to reclaim the top spot for Ram, became president of the automaker’s American brands and announced the return of the SRT division. And according to the automaker’s earnings presentation, we will see the results of that revival very soon.
On page 19 of Stellantis’ third-quarter shipments and revenue report, it said ram It will introduce two SRT products over the next three months. During the callAntonio Velosa, CEO of Stellantis, said:
“Finally, Ram will further showcase its passion for its brand with two new SRT performance products to be unveiled in the coming months, each with completely distinct value propositions.”
These two new products from SRT will be part of a larger product offensive that will start with 2026 Dodge Durango SRT Hellcatwhich will go on sale later this year. According to Velosa, “This will be the first of many SRT products that we will launch in the coming years.” The presentation, page 13, indicates that Stellantis will launch “multiple SRT products” by 2030.
Stellantis is shifting its focus back to producing combustion engines as interest in electric cars stagnates. The automaker provided Hurricane 4 Turbo Earlier this week at the 2026 Jeep Grand Cherokee. It’s a 324-hp 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder.
A few months ago, Ram announced The 5.7-liter Hemi V-8 will return as an option for the 1500 for 2026. Kuniskis admitted the brand made a mistake, and the automaker now expects the engine to account for more than 25 percent of sales.
And with two new SRT products on the way, the V-8 will likely play an important role.
In April, Kuniskis announced that the brand would hold 25 production announcements by the end of 2026, with the return of the Hemi being the first of these. There have been hints that Ram will revive the TRX model at some point, which uses the Hellcat’s supercharged 6.2-liter V8.
Stellantis doesn’t appear to be designing entirely new V-8 engines and is instead updating its lineup to work with the automaker’s new STLA architecture. That’s what Kuniskis tasked former SRT chief engineer Darryl Smith last year with bringing the Hemi back to the Ram.
Now with SRT section Back and working on new products, we’ll see what comes next, but it seems like Stellantis is trying to right its mistakes.
