The 2026 Alfa Romeo Tonali loses its hybridity but looks better

The Alfa Romeo Tonale isn’t very old, but the automaker is already giving the compact SUV a makeover for 2026. Although not much has changed visually, there’s something missing under the hood — a hybrid option.

the 2026 Tonali It will only come with a 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine, which produces the same 268 horsepower and 295 pound-feet of torque as before. It’s coupled to a nine-speed automatic transmission and Alfa’s Q4 all-wheel drive system.

What is new is the external appearance, or parts of it. The Tonale features a redesigned front fascia, and a new concave Scudetto grille – a small shield – inspired by 33 Stradaland less aggressive intakes. Alfa designers also reduced the front overhang and widened the front and rear tracks.

Inside, the Tonale’s cabin remains unchanged, although Alfa now offers new equipment options. Red leather seats are now available, while each crossover will feature contrast stitching on the dashboard, door panels and armrests.
