Talos Vehicles, a British engineering company specializing in low-performance cars, has unveiled a new sports car after two long years of development. On the surface, it looks like a modified version of the Ferrari 599 GTB (because it is), but the so-called XXT is closer to the 599XX race car for the road. And yes, it’s completely street legal.
Each car comes with a modified 6.0-liter V-12 engine that produces 674 horsepower, 54 more than the original, and 460 pound-feet of torque. It has a super-fast 6-speed F1 transmission with paddle shifters Optional manual gearbox. Talos claims the XXT can reach 62 mph in 3.5 seconds and has a top speed of 205 mph.
The XXT comes with a custom carbon fiber body that mimics the car’s design 599XX. It also has 20-inch forged wheels, with the Talos offering optional single-nut hubs. The car is also available in left-hand and right-hand configurations.
Production of the Talos will be limited to just five cars, and buyers will be able to select custom options, including paint, interior trim and matte or gloss trim. Talos will also offer engine, drivetrain and exhaust modifications, as well as an optional roll cage and in-car entertainment options.
Ferrari The 599 GTB Fiorano was produced for five model years, with production ending in 2012. The model saw several variants over its life, including 599 GTO. The automaker replaced it with the F12berlinetta, with 12 cylinder Serving as the modern face of the brand, the V-12 engine model.
The Talos XXT starts at £950,000, or $1.24 million at today’s exchange rate, and requires a 599 GTB donor car. Talos manufactures its cars at its facility in Yorkshire, England. The company has built modified versions of the Porsche 911, Fiat 500, Ford S2000, Land Rover Ranger Rovers and Defenders.
