What started as a routine journey to Carmax in Jacksonville, Florida, to sell a used car that turned into what a customer described as a frustrating ordeal.
In a video clip containing more than 19,000 views, content creator John Thaden (@JohnthaddenI shared how things went south in the local Kermx.
In the video, Thaddin explains that he and his wife brought 2021 Toyota Corolla In the local Karmax in Jacksonville in the hope of fast sale.
“We didn’t try to buy anything,” Thaden says.
Because they did not have an appointment, the couple is expected to be waiting for them. After about 40 minutes, one of the employees ordered them to scan the fast response icon published in the meter, and Thaden claims. The link withdrew the Carmax system via the Internet, as they introduced details about miles in Corolla, the date of service, and the case.
They revealed a pre -fixed eyebrow on the back seat, for every Thaddin. Once the model was completed, the system created an estimate of evaluation, Thaddin says that he and his wife are digitally acceptable, assuming that the price will remain firm.
Things take their role
But the operation soon became complicated, according to Thaden. The car title was included in both the wife and her mother, who fell on Power of a power of attorney so that they could sell the car without it. But one of the employees told them that they could not sell the car legally without the mother’s present.
“This was not logical,” Thaddin says. “We should have been enough.”
When they got up to go out, another employee stopped them, saying that the papers were good and that the other person did not really know what they were talking about.
The confusion does not end there, as it claims.
They sit down, and after more than two hours of waiting, Thaddin claims that he returned to the person from the Labor Office to obtain an update, and claimed that she did not know that they were still waiting and believed that the transaction was completed. Then he says that she claimed that their names were called, but they never responded.
“My wife and I were sitting there all the time. They never contacted us, so I don’t know what it was,” said Thaddin.
When the paperwork was finally brought, the offer was less than $ 2000 of the online quotation that they accepted, he says.
He added, “Before we waste any time from our time, is this offer? Because it is less big than we were fine, and none of us talked about this.”
He recalls that the person tried to return back and forth with Thaddin, and got the sales manager, but he was tired of this stage and left after two and a half hours of the weekend.
“I recommend not going to Carmax? Not necessarily, but Carmax certainly needs to be a little better, until Saturday in Jacksonville, Florida,”
For sale or not selling to Karmax
The sale of a used car consuming time and complex can be. It may take weeks or months to sell your car separately, and the process often includes negotiating prices and sometimes the buyer will take the car to conduct an inspection in their mechanics.
Carmax offers a seven -day and written offer, either by online presentation or personal evaluation. Although Carmax simplifies some steps, such as paperwork and negotiations, special sales can make a higher profit, so it ultimately depends on your priorities.
In comments on the Thaden Publication, people shared their views of Carmax.
One of them wrote: “They were always terrible … No one knows anything and everyone should speak to the manager.”
“I sold F150 to one of their customers …. in their car park, for $ 6000 more than they offered,” another claimed.
“Carmax is the worst. The easiest to sell to Carvana or is likely to negotiate with the agency for a higher offer.”
