They do not call Monza the “temple of speed” for nothing. With the exception of three Chicunes added over the decades, this is a classic race circle as before-two straight couples connected to the rapid right angles. Louis Hamilton’s Lap 2020 was the pole here at a rate of 164.267 miles per hour. If you want to go faster on a closed circle, you will need an actual oval.
Monza may be one of the few race tracks where you can truly Experience The New Porsche 911 GT3 RS capable. Pirelli GT3 RS put on TROFEO RS OEM tires to drive at the media event for the new Pzero family. You You can read about the rest of the tires hereBut this experience requires its own story.
The GT3 RS has emerged from 992 generations a few years ago, and led him on the correct path earlier, but this did not promise what it was in Monza. Aero’s root package of this car generates 900 lb -ft powers at 124 miles per hour and 1895 pounds at 177 miles per hour. A few cars can match the road, and you will need Hypercar to overcome. A wide comparison can be what a 911 GT3 R race car around a high -speed track like LE MANS … or, for this issue, Monza.

It is clear that the lower forces create clouds, which reduces the maximum speed. This may seem bad in a place like Monza, and yes, in a race environment, you will not want to run much of the wing here. But two right hand from Monza, Corva Grande on top, and parabolica at the bottom, allows you to experience the full effects of the GT3 RS forces. It is another feeling.
To better describe this, it is worth explaining briefly how tires and flying work. The frame has a maximum fist level in both the side and longitudinal acceleration, measured in G-FORCE or simply “G”, which is the force on the body practiced by the acceleration in any direction.
You can draw that force in a two -dimensional circle on a graph, which is useful to consider the extent of the side of the side forces (the turn) and the length (accelerated and the brake) that the frame can take before losing a grip. You may be able to corner, accelerate, and brake separately with a maximum of 1 gram each, but if you accelerate and turn at the same time, you can only get a portion of the grip of each achieveable direction.
This friction circuit changes constantly, is affected by the corrosion level, tire temperature, sliding angle, friction coefficient for the road surface, transporting the car’s weight under acceleration, braking, and moving. If you go to the race school, you dive in the depth of all this, but what you need to know here is that on its own, the frame is only able to take a lot of lateral and long acceleration before losing the grip.

It is excessive to simplify the saying that in the turns, a pure mechanical grip of the frame alone decreases with speed after a certain point … but this is the case mainly. The fist of the aerodynamic dynamic, which is created from the wings that are generated down, fruit, publishers, etc., makes the dual -dimensional traction circle larger. But the particular interesting thing is that the lower power rises with the speed box: in other words, Aero Grip increases at speed. Not without limits, of course, because the tires cannot deal with much, but enough that it mainly changes your driving approach.
In practice, he goes like this. Curva Grande is in fact just a flat race of The Slow First Chicane to the second slow Chicane. Mentally, I couldn’t get my feet on the ground.
My experience is not common. If you have spent the time of the path in low road cars, or even racing cars with a high mechanical grip, but a little aero, getting your head around the lower forces is difficult. Intellecally, you know what the car can do – or at least you have a concept of it – but make yourself contradict your instincts that have been sharpened during years of the previous driving experience. Especially when you don’t want to get the vine of another person GT3 RS.
With another session, perfectly after taking a look at the data comparison between me and someone faster, it may have been possible to get there. But I had a hell of time regardless. G-FORCE’s feeling on your body is accelerating during the angle and lower apostasy is not similar to anything else. I am grateful that this car contains a six -point bucket and couples, because if it does not happen, I don’t think I can carry myself.

Then the braking. I decided to be somewhat conservative, but I still just after that I did in Carrera GTS. I even learned that I could go deep into this car because of the lower power, but I am still early. There is a little frustrated about reaching the corner much slower than you need to be, but for me, it gives way to surprise for what the car could be able to. It forces you to rethink what is possible, and the additional context of the “regular” sports car such as GTS Carrera makes what GT3 RS does much more.
Parabolica may be the best pillar on the path, although surprisingly rapid Lesmos runs it. Although it looks somewhat narrow on the path map, it is fast, and it returns to power very early, it seems that the car is striving for its borders, so that (you and you) can breathe at the main level.
I don’t want to say that GT3 RS is a street race car, because in some respects, it is more advanced than the 911 GT3 race, with modified differential Aero, as well, the fact that it has a nice leather interior. But not much through a license plate that provides the same race car experience, and in a place like Monza, this is especially clear.

Because it is strange as the car feels someone from my experience, it is also very friendly. The car is not tense, it just dares to raise your game to suit its capabilities. And great credit for Pirelli to make such friendly tires in Tofeo RS. The company’s engineers talk about maintaining a nice plateau of fist as soon as the peak of tires exceeds, instead of sudden decrease. The peak may not be high to one fast bosom, but realistically, tires provide more speed for a longer period.
There are other paths through which you can take full advantage of the GT3 RS power, but not many of them are very exciting. Even after the title of “Speed Temple”, there is a mysterious religious thing about this place. It may be Italy, as everything inspires this kind of reverence.
Or perhaps this is the way that the six thousand rpm echoes between the six -six, between the stands, the trees and the bridge on the way to the Variante Ascari, and everywhere else. You may know that you are in one of the oldest paths designed for this purpose are still running in the world, second after Indy.
It is a place to worship worship, and there are no points to guess my beliefs.
