Mike Elmore currently advises Security and Infrastructure start-ups. From 2016-2018, he held the position of Chief Customer Success Officer and imbeded Security Solutions, within the Enterprise Networking Product Management organization at Cisco. Mike led the acquisition charge and due diligence for Viptela ($625M).
Mike has spent his career on both the customer side and sell side of the desk, driving and delivering next generation architectures, enterprise security programs and innovations, while executing cost optimization and service quality improvements through strategic insourcing and outsourcing initiatives. Prior to joining Cisco, Mike held various executive leadership roles at Cigna Healthcare from 2011-2016, including Chief Information Security Officer (CISO) and VP of Global Enterprise Network and Contact Center Engineering. At Cigna, he and his team executed the insourcing of the voice, contact center and data network, resulting in $50M+ in run rate savings.
Prior to his role at Cigna, Mike spent four years at Cisco leading Solution Architecture in the Global Enterprise Theater, following a four-year tenure at United Health Group where he led the Global Design and Network Planning teams.
Mike was a participating board member of the Open Network Users Group (ONUG), where he led and participated in various working group initiatives with a focus on Software Defined Security and Software Defined WAN, along with advising various start-ups and Venture Capital firms . He remains on the ONUG board, as Board Emeritus. In addition, Mike currently advises FishTech Security, as an Industry Advisor Board (IAB) member, along with advising Orkus and MistNet.ai.
Mike holds a B.S. and double major in Information Network Management and Marketing from the University of Minnesota. Mike is an avid runner, a big hockey fan and an active board member of the Special Olympics. He and his wife Jennifer have two children, Ellie (9) and Landon (6).
